It was on one of those first days of spring...

Heizhaus, built 1914

A lot of buildings surround the Goetheanum: A garden building, ateliers, workshops and construction offices; apartment houses, guest houses, research laboratories and an observatory; training centers and a student dormitory....

close to the Goetheanum was this cafe/restaurant -
we had our dinner there...

This building was made for the man who donated
the land to Rudolf Steiner and the Anthroposophical Society

Glasatelier (Glashaus) 1914. This is the place where
the most wonderful coloured glass windows were made -
I've shown you one above...the red one...

A view from the roof top

In this 5-6 m. high building a lot of the wood works
and sculptures for the main building were made
A place to rest our tired bodies...and feet ;O)

Very interesting photos. I used to live near a Steiner school, in Bristol, England. They had an excellent cafe attached to it - very nice alphapha and houmous sandwiches, all washed down with some chamomile tea! As for Anthroposophy, from the little I know of it, it has some fascinating ideas. I'm not sure about the whole Venusian-inspired spirituality (didn't Steiner think there was an intelligent race there? Correct me if I'm wrong).
Beautiful, organic forms.... I wonder how it felt to be there? I wonder what it would be like if we lived with organic, undulating forms in our cities.... and amazing glass windows, wow!
Hi Singing Bear!
Anthroposophy is interesting...and of course one can choose some of it...and leave the rest...like most people do. The writings of Steiner are not soo easy to read I think!! Actually one can't be very inspired by Waldorf without knowing a bit about Rudolf Steiner, right? And i don't know anything about the Venusian part ;O)
Hi Valerianna! Welcome!!!
Well, I felt like I could breath again....it was wonderful, and my world would be very different if I lived like that...I'm hypersensitive by nature and response strongly to colours, smells, noises...etc. Yeah, what wonderful cities we could have!!
