Yesterday afternoon I went out for the first time in a week...
and I saw a lot of wonderful things! One of the things I saw
was this flower: Common Butterbur. In Danish it is often
nicknamed 'Bugge Blod' - The Blood of Bugge. Nils Bugge
(ca. 1300-1359) was a Danish was a nobleman who was
brutally murdered together with two other noblemen...
and this flower is said to grow from their blood. Anyway,
Bugge Blod came to Denmark in the 14th century as
monks brought the flower to the Danish monasteries as
a medical plant (a cure for plague abscesses and wounds/ulcerations)
