I'm enjoying these Koi prints so much - Koi are another of my favorite things ... I've never had a pond of my own, but a friend of mine does and the Koi are like little pets .. they come to be fed when one sits by the pond, and they tickle when they eat from your hand!

I'll never have a pond, but I hope someday to have a nice aquarium with large fancy goldfish!

Lucky you to have a friend who has a pond with Koi! Eat from the hand...small pets indeed...and clever ones! It reminds me that I've seen a duck feeding Koi fishes with bread...on the telly...quite funny.

Large goldfishes are fine too...I'll post some goldfishes as an inspiration for you ;O)))

Take care!!!

Hello Aputsiaq.

Kuniyoshi's ukiyo-e prints are really interesting. He drew lots of monsters too.
I think Sakata Kaidomaru and Kintaro was the same person. We usually call him Sakata Kintoki(坂田金時). He had many episodes, including this koi- episode. In the gardens' ponds, we usually keep the carp in a variety of colors. They grow to a very large size!!
Thank you for sharing!

Hi Sapphire! I was just thinking about you this morning Hope ypu're fine!

Thanks for your useful informations! I often think about the Japanese artist's names! "Often" I see that an artist has more than one name (one name and a nickname)...or I don't know which name is his/her first name and which is his surname. And as I'm not familiar with Japanese names, I have to think twice before posting...so I'm glad for your comment(s)! Thanks!
